Of ten times I am questioned as to who is in control of the hypnosis process… and I always state that the person receiving the hypnosis treatment is in control of the entire process. Now let’s examine why. First we must understand that the process of hypnosis is to help the person achieve an outcome that one wants. The hypnotist can not make a suggestion to the receiving person, and create this outcome to happen; and control the mind of the person receiving the suggestion. The hypnotist’s role is to help… not hurt the person based upon the Code of Ethics. If the person receiving the suggestion made from the hypnotist is not wanted the receiving person simply will not retain it or end the session. AND RIGHTLY SO!
