Hypno-Birthing

What is it and why should you consider it? Dr. Dick-Read in 1913 London became very interested in the philosophy of hypno-birthing. He witnessed several women delivering their babies without pain and suffering being a physician then and wondered how. From his studies came his theory that when fear is not present, pain is not present. In the absence of fear, the muscles relax and become pliable, and the cervix is able to naturally thin and open as the body pulsates rhythmically and delivers the baby with ease.

While utilizing hypnosis, which allows the mother to be in a trance, and with the belief that she is in control and absence of fear; pain is therefore absent and control by her. Hypno-birthing allows the mother to understand pressure and calmness at the same time.

In the beginning stages of hypno-birthing the mother’s fears are spoken about and then put to rest, so they do not  interfere with the birthing process. The mother maintains control by focusing on her breathing and calm state of mind allowing herself to remain in a trance from beginning to end and marvel in such a natural wonderful pain free experience.

If you are interested in learning more about this process please let me know. I do hypno-birthing by internet webcam, as well as in the office.
